| Outline:
Net-Detectives is an exciting
online role play programme where school pupils under the supervision
of their teachers become 'net detectives' using ICT to link with experts
from outside agencies to solve real life scenarios based in the fictional
(but strangely familiar) town of Huntingbridge.
Net-Detectives started in Cambridgeshire (as
Super Highway Patrol) before going national. Changes to its central management
mean that from September 2005 it will be managed within Cambridgeshire
as part of the pupil portal, in conjunction with Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
Suitable for:
The online role-plays are aimed currently at 9-12 year
olds.
Tools available:
Net-Detectives has its own website. See www.net-detectives.org
for more details.

opportunity to take part in 2 net detective activities during 2005/2006.
The usual briefing and support will be provided.
Non-subscribing schools will also be able to take part
in the activities at a cost of £50 per scenario.
