Outline:

Making the News is a national website developed by E2BN and other regional broadband consortia. It allows registered users to post and view news items about their area, their school or anything else. For instance, it could be used as the vehicle for a school 'newspaper' day with a difference.

Any age range, depending on use.

Tools available:

News can be posted as text and/or still images directly on the site. In addition the site provides the ability to record audio and/or video news using simple built-in tools. Just requires a microphone and webcam. Alternatively, pre-prepared audio and video files may be uploaded.

Support and Training:

Making the News is available to any school in Cambridgeshire whether or not they subscribe to the pupil portal.

However, non-subscribing schools will be charged on a pay as you go basis if technical or other support is required to use the system.

During the Autumn term 2005 subscribing schools will be offered the opportunity to receive training and take part in a managed county-wide project.
