Changes to the primary curriculum
The previous Government made several amendments to the Childrens, Schools and Families Bill to enable some parts of the Bill to be passed into law before Parliament was dissolved before the General Election. Some key provisions were taken out because no agreement was reached between the previous Government and opposition parties. The reform of the Primary Curriculum was one of the key provisions taken out, and the introduction of compulsory PSHE, amongst others, so, at this time, these reforms, including the new Primary Curriculum, have not become statue. It will remain to see what happens to the curriculum in the future. Please see the DfE news page for more information.
