Sustainable procurement
GREEN CHOICES
One of the initiatives proposed in Cambridgeshire's Climate Change Environment Strategy Action plan has been to identify and promote more sustainable and environmentally friendly procurement.

CCC's Procurement and Contract Management team have been working closely with ESPO and have started by looking at looking at ways of highlighting the everyday environmental friendly/green products that ESPO have available to purchase. As a result we have produced a mini "Green Choices" catalogue for use by staff in both schools and across the council. |
Sustainable catalogue
The ESPO sustainable catalogue contains the following product areas: Microgeneration products, energy efficiency, products made from recycled materials and products for the sustainable management of parks.

The sustainable catalogue is:
- Fully EU compliant, making the necessity for tendering unnecessary for purchasers
- Where products have been specified to high standards of sustainability and quality
- Where products and services have been chosen in accordance with the key commodity areas identified by the Government's Sustainable Procurement Task Force.
