Huntingdon Victory Hall Plans are all ready for licence Ready for the day when permission to build the Borough’s Memorial hall is received, Huntingdon commemoration Fund Committee has plans ready so that building can proceed in two phases-first the Hall and subsidiary rooms to satisfy the immediate and pressing needs of the Town, and then the full scheme envisaged for the complete building. The Committee’s report on the fund’s fifth year states that an estimate of the cost of the first part is being obtained and when it is received the next step will be to get the licence re-installed and submitted to the Ministry with application for a grant. Finally there will be a renewed appeal for funds necessary to complete this urgently needed hall. In its fifth year the fund’s progress has been steady, if not spectacular. Gross receipts on 31 July 1950 stood at £5365, an increase of £347 on the previous year. For the five years a sum of £111 4s. 8d. has covered the whole of the working expenses.
