I asked my class of Year 1 children to bring in their bikes and scooters (with all the necessary accessories!!) to ride for our intruction writing for the Non-fiction Unit.  They loved it and enjoyed riding their bikes, thinking about the steps and then explaining their ideas to their partners.  I took photos of them in action so that they could look at these and talk about what was happening and the stages they'd gone through etc.  The subsequent leaflets produced by the children were great and they were really keen to tell people how to start, keep going and stop!!
