Community: Research Governance

Research Governance is ...

A supportive framework that ensures research within Cambridgeshire County Council is ethical, reliable and valid. Cambridgeshire County Council is keen to promote itself as a learning organisation but also recognise their duty of care to all service users, their families and carers and staff who might be the subject of any research.

Research is a valuable learning tool and within the Learning Directorate and there is now a framework to support and share research. Generally our definition of research covers all research involving children and young people, families, carers and their data for whom the Local Authority has a duty of care.

PROCESS:

  • Prepare a research proposal
  • Contact the RGF Co-ordinator to discuss what you might need to do
  • Complete an Application Form for research approval to the RGF Co-ordinator
  • Await approval
