Using the right click 'copy link' option in Firefox
Click to print a copy of this page

Some of our customers have reported being unable to use the right click 'Copy Link' menu option in the Firefox browser.

When they try to do so the following error displays:

The cause of this is by default Java Script is not allowed to read or set your clipboard data for security and privacy reasons. For more details see here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Granting_JavaScript_access_to_the_clipboard

However it is possible to change your browser settings to allow your browser to access the clipboard when using Digitalbrain specifically. Here is how this can be done:

  1. Open a Firefox browser session and in the address bar type "about:config"
  2. Search for the line " signed.applets.codebase_principal_support = false" and double click it.
  3. This will change the line to read "signed.applets.codebase_principal_support = true".
  4. Now you will need to download an 'add in' from this URL: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/852
  5. Once you have downloaded it you need to navigate to the Tools menu in your Firefox browser and select the 'Allow Clipboard Helper' option.
  6. In the 'server address field please type www.digitalbrain.com, click the 'Allow' button and then select 'OK'.
  7. The first time you try to use the right click 'Copy Link' menu option you will be advised to "allow these abilities only if you trust this source..." You should opt to do so if you wish to be able to use the right click 'Copy Link' menu option.
  8. Thereafter when you select 'Copy Link' you will see this prompt:
