Internet Explorer crashes on log in or first link accessed after log in

A number of customers are reporting Internet Explorer crashes when the log in. This appears to affect Windows XP machines with a certain version of the ntdll.dll file. This is an integral part of how internet explorer renders pages.

Please note this does not affect all Windows XP users

We successfully resolved this issue for a number of users by upgrading Flash Player to version 9. This can be downloaded here.

In order to resolve this issue it is likely that Microsoft would have to release an update via their Windows update service. Running windows update regularly could also help.
